Designed for Riders Who Stop Along the Way
If you’ve ever pulled into a servo, café, trail centre or local shop and found yourself constantly glancing back at your bike on the rack, you’ll understand the problem Raklox has solved.
The Raklox Secure Anchor is not your traditional bike lock—it has been purpose-built specifically for securing bikes to vertical bike racks while travelling. After spending some time with the system, here’s what stood out to us.

Key Features
The Raklox Secure Anchor takes a different approach to bike security by securing through the bike’s steerer tube rather than around the frame.
Designed specifically for use with vertical bike racks, the system combines a permanently installed Anchor Point, a rack-mounted bracket and a high-security square-link chain to create a quick, convenient and frame-safe locking solution.
Its one-handed operation, aircraft-grade construction and purpose-built design make it particularly well suited to riders who regularly transport high-value mountain bikes and e-bikes.

The Raklox Secure Anchor exudes the highest quality and engineering throughout.

Raklox is an Australian company founded by passionate mountain biker and retired military aircraft technician, Jen. After becoming frustrated with the lack of practical security options for bikes mounted on vehicle racks, she used her engineering background to develop a purpose-built locking system designed specifically for cyclists.

Today, Raklox remains proudly Australian-made, veteran-owned and focused on providing simple, effective bike security for riders on the move.

Setup
The first thing we noticed during installation was that the Secure Anchor feels very different from a conventional bike lock. Rather than wrapping a chain around the frame every time you stop, the system revolves around two permanent components: an Anchor Point fitted inside the bike’s steerer tube and a bracket mounted to the rack.

The installation videos provided by the Raklox website are very clear and easy to follow.

Fitting the bracket to the rack was straightforward, and we liked the fact that it becomes a permanent part of the setup rather than another item that needs to be packed and unpacked.

Easy to install spacers are provided if you need to shorten the length of the chain to avoid bashing against the frame in transit.

The steerer tube Anchor Point is a clever solution, as it keeps all locking forces away from the frame itself.

After installation, the entire system felt integrated rather than added-on, which is exactly what you’d hope for on a bike worth several thousand dollars.

On The Trails/Road
Out on the trails is where the Raklox concept makes the most sense. Like many riders, our typical day involves more than just riding. There’s usually a coffee stop, a quick trip into a shop, or a lunch break somewhere along the way. These are the situations Raklox has clearly been designed around.
What stood out most was the convenience of the one-handed operation. With a helmet in one hand and a coffee in the other, being able to secure the bike quickly without threading a chain around awkward rack geometry was genuinely useful.
Equally important was the peace of mind it provided. We appreciated that the lock never touched the frame, eliminating concerns about rubbing, scratches or carbon damage.

The lock engages directly with the Anchor Point in the steerer tube, making the process feel fast and intuitive.

The hardened chain and secure steerer-tube connection gave us far more confidence than any other lock we have used over the years, particularly when leaving the bikes unattended for short periods while grabbing food or coffee.
While no lock can guarantee complete protection against a determined thief, the Raklox system feels purpose-built for the transport and travel scenarios that mountain bikers encounter most often.

Conclusion
The Raklox Secure Anchor is a clever rethinking of bike security for riders who transport their bikes regularly. Rather than adapting a traditional lock to work around a bike rack, Raklox has designed a complete system specifically for the task.
The steerer-tube Anchor Point, permanent rack bracket, one-handed operation and frame-free locking design combine to create a solution that is both convenient and practical.
If your coffee stop involves equal parts caffeine and bike-related anxiety, it’s time to take a look at the Raklox Secure Anchor.
